Self Defense
Our Defense program is taught to our black belts and now as special program for students to learn practical skills in: Taekwondo Hapkido, Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo, Grappling/Jiu-jitsu, and Weapon self-defense. It is true that Taekwondo is a dynamic martial art and great for self-defense in practice and application. However, the benefits of learning and applying other techniques to the student's studies can greatly enhance their overall ability and understanding of martial arts. It is vastly important that a martial art student is balanced in their practice. Many programs lack balance focusing only on art or aggression. We require that our students have good character before teaching them dangerous techniques and exercise the utmost self-control. The technique through: Hapkido, Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo, Grappling/Jiu-jitsu, and Weapon self-defense, can be dangerous and must be balanced with a moral and strong character; along with excellent self-control. Our philosophy is to be peacemakers and anyone acting outside of this standard of conduct does not represent Master Reilly's Family Martial Arts, LLC.

Under the guidance of seasoned expert and Black Belt Instructor Chuck Gouge, we teach both Japanese Jiu-jitsu and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Master Reilly began his personal experience in Jiu-jitsu while he was teaching Taekwondo at Penn State Behrend in 2008. Since then, Jiu-jitsu has been part of his program for his senior students. Now he is incorporating it into more of his general curriculum.

Hapkido
Hapkido is the way of moving energy, or manipulating another's energy. As they attack, instead of resisting them, you simply allow their momentum to continue in a new direction. This is typically done in circular and fluid motions. The attacker will find themselves in uncomfortable positions and be thrown or taken to the ground effortlessly as they try to escape discomfort. Injury can most certainly happen. However, we practice this form with the utmost caution and discipline.
